Context

Analysis | Visual | Target | Target's Posterior | Histograms

The main function of this tool is to generate histograms for analyzing the posterior probabilities of the Target, given hard evidence on each state of the selected variables. However, it can also be used to analyze the posterior probability distributions of the selected variables given hard evidence on each state of the Target.

History

Prior to version 7.0, this feature had been called Influence Analysis on Target Node. It was updated in version 5.0.7.

New Feature: Mean

As of version 8.0, the mean values can also be analyzed with these histograms.

Example

The prior mean value of the Target Purchase Intent is highlighted in red, with a priori.

Hovering over the bar brings up a tooltip that indicates:

  • the hard observed state of the Intensity,
  • the posterior mean value of Purchase Intent given the Hard Evidence Intensity=3,
  • the probability of Intensity=3 before the observation.

The prior mean value of each node is highlighted in red, with a priori.

Hovering over the bar brings up a tooltip that indicates:

  • the hard observed state of the Target, Purchase Intent,
  • the posterior mean value of Intensity given the Hard Evidence Purchase Intent=1,
  • the probability of Purchase Intent=1 before the observation
