To start the installation process, you will need to receive an email from the Bayesia License Server.
This email includes the following items:
A unique download link to your installation files (Windows, Mac, Unix/Linux)
Your Activation Credentials:
Client ID in the format: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
Activation Password
The download link to the BayesiaLab installation files is unique to you and cannot be used again or shared with others.
Administrator rights are required for the installation.
Once you have downloaded the installation files, open the downloaded file by double-clicking on it.
Depending on your operating system, you may receive multiple about downloading and running the executable BayesiaLab installation file.
Dismiss the warnings to proceed.
The installer program then prompts you for the language.
Click OK to confirm.
Next, the BayesiaLab Setup Wizard starts.
Click Next > to proceed to the License Agreement.
Read the License Agreement, check the "I accept the agreement" box, and click Next to proceed.
Specify the directory into which all BayesiaLab program files will be placed.
Windows users can also specify the Start Menu folder from which BayesiaLab can be started.
The next screen displays your selections.
Click Install to start the installation process.
Upon completing the installation, the Wizard presents the following screen.
Check the Launch BayesiaLab box and click Finish to start BayesiaLab straight away. Starting BayesiaLab now for the first time will immediately initiate the Activation process.
Otherwise, leave the box unchecked and complete the installation by clicking Finish.
The download link provided in the Account Information email is unique to you and provides the installation files that are relevant to the BayesiaLab version you licensed.
Once you open this link in a browser, you will see several BayesiaLab versions available for download:
BayesiaLabXX_JRE_32.exe: Installation files for Windows 32-bit systems, including the Java Runtime Environment.
BayesiaLabXX_JRE_64.exe: Installation files for Windows 64-bit systems, including the Java Runtime Environment.
BayesiaLabXX.zip: Universal installation files without Java Runtime Environment, suitable for all operating systems, including Unix/Linux.
BayesiaLabXX.pkg.zip: Installation files for macOS/OS X.
If you want to move the installation of your Single-User/Single-Machine License to a different computer, you need to follow this uninstallation/reset protocol.
Do not uninstall BayesiaLab using the standard uninstall methods.
Do not reformat or repartition your local drive, install a new operating system, or recycle your computer before performing this uninstallation/reset protocol.
Failure to adhere to this protocol may permanently disable your license.
You need to be able to use your computer with Administrator rights.
On Windows computers, select "Run as administrator" for Windows users
Run the BayesiaLab Uninstallation program: Windows: \Program Files\Bayesia\unins000.exe
macOS: Applications/BayesiaLab/Uninstall.command
Select Yes when prompted to remove the activation key.
If you do have an Internet connection, select "Automatic process" and click OK to uninstall BayesiaLab.
This will automatically send the Uninstallation Key to the Bayesia License Server and remove the BayesiaLab license from your current computer.
Upon completing this process, your Single-User/Single-Machine License can be installed and activated on a different computer using your original credentials.
If you do not have an Internet connection, check the Manual process and click OK to uninstall the program and immediately obtain your Uninstallation Key on the screen.
Copy the Uninstallation Key (highlighted in red) from the uninstallation window.
You need to formally submit this Uninstallation Key to Bayesia, which can be done in two ways:
Go to a computer with an Internet connection and open https://bls1.bayesia.com/uninstall in a browser.
Enter or paste the Uninstallation Key into the License Uninstallation form.
Click Uninstall
Alternatively, you can submit your Uninstallation Key to Bayesia by emailing support@bayesialab.com
Once the Bayesia License Server receives the Uninstallation Key, your Single-User/Single-Machine License can be installed on a different computer using your original credentials.
By default, you can uninstall and then reinstall BayesiaLab no more than twice a year. Please contact us if you require additional resets.
This section will provide you with step-by-step instructions for installing and activating a BayesiaLab Single-User/Single-Machine License on your computer.
After starting BayesiaLab for the first time, you will be prompted for your Client Identifier (or Client ID).
Enter the Client Identifier and click OK.
Check the "Automatic process" box and click OK to proceed.
BayesiaLab now communicates with the Bayesia License Server to validate your license.
If everything is OK, BayesiaLab starts up immediately and is ready for use.
The next screen prompts you to perform the Manual Activation via the Bayesia License Server.
The window provides several important pieces of information:
The Product Code, which is new to you.
The Activation Key field, which is still empty and which you do not yet have.
Copy the Client Identifier, the Product Code, and leave this window open. You need to return to it once you have obtained the Activation Key.
On this page, enter the Client Identifier.
Enter the Product Code (from the still-open window on the computer where you are installing BayesiaLab)
Click Activate.
The next page shows you the Activation Key/License Key.
Copy this Activation Key/License Key.
Return to the computer on which you are activating BayesiaLab
The Manual Activation window should still be open.
Paste the copied Activation Key/License Key into the Activation Key field.
Click OK to start BayesiaLab.
A Single-User/Single-Machine License must be activated/reactivated once per license term, typically once a year.
The Client Identifier in the format XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX was provided to you in the email.
You have the choice of or .
For most users, the will be simpler, but certain network configurations, e.g., with corporate firewalls, may prevent this process. In that case, becomes necessary.
In case the is not possible, e.g., if your computer is not directly connected to the Internet for security reasons, check the box for Manual process and click OK.

Go to any computer that has an Internet connection — a tablet or smartphone will suffice, and open this page in a browser:
Retrieve the Activation Password from the email.
For most users, this means clicking OK when the prompt comes up at the beginning of a new license term.
